Patty Dukes aka Patricia Marte is a phenomenal Hip-Hop Artist, Actress,
Writer, Performer and Filmmaker hailing from the Boogie Down South Bronx.
Patty recently performed in Till Da Break of Dawn at the Public Theater
which was written and directed by the Obie award-winning actor and
playwright Danny Hoch. She has performed at The Apollo Theater Sound Stage
Festival with Big Voices & Mark Russell Projects, The Hip Hop Theater
Festival and The Royal Shakespeare Company New Works Festival - Stratford,
England. She works as a teaching artist for organizations like DREAMYARD and
PEPATIONS'S HIP-HOP ACADEMY. Being a freelance writer her words have graced
the pages of Urban Latino, The Ave, Kicksclusive and Fuego Magazine.
Interviewing artist like the Tony award-winning Def Poetry Jam Poets to
Hip-Hop MC's like Twista. Patty is the recipient of both the 2005 Community
Action Lab Grant from the Bronx Museum of the Arts to develop The Girls
Hip-Hop Project and Chica Luna Productions's 2005 F-Word Lab. Patty also
wrote and directed the short hip-hop film On Everything I Love which was
produced by CHICA LUNA PRODUCTIONS, March 2006. Patty is the director and
host of The Patty Dukes Show, a podcast show on hip-hop culture. Her poetry
and rhymes will appear in the Atria / Simon and Schuster book written by
debut novelist E-Fierce called THE SISTAHOOD: ON THE MIC which is
forthcoming, July 11, 2006 and will also be a featured MC on the music
